I was FAT. My son was 7 months old, I was still breastfeeding (well, pumping and feeding) and it was Christmas of 2010. I watch late night infomercials ALL the time. I was already working out, but only every other day. I was doing Zumba DVDs and workouts that were on Netflix streaming, plus the occasional run. I didn't lose, I just maintained. I didn't want to shower every day for some odd reason so I figured and every other day workout schedule would be great. I only worked out 3x a week before I got pregnant so why not right? UGH. It's taken me 3 years to appreciate the 5-6 day workout schedule. If only I would have gotten off my lazy ass and did something more about it!
I was trolling on Facebook while I was pumping and saw that a friend of mine from high school who was heavy as long as I knew her had just lost 30 lbs using ChaLEAN Extreme. I had never heard of it, but after she had mentioned it I had seen the infomercial on TV. BINGO. An answer... I ordered it right then and there as a Christmas present for myself. I wasn't the only human on earth doing so, so I had to wait for a while for it to be received since right after Christmas is the dreaded New Years Resolution. Start date was January 5th, 2011.
I was so excited to workout and determined to make a change. However, my cravings got worse and I ate more food because the workout is about 70% weight lifting so I was hungry all the time (yeah, I ate packs of Pop Tarts at 2 am for middle of the night feedings.) I got Iron Man adjustable weights from Sears, wore PJ's to workout in cause I didn't have any workout clothes that fit really. I got sick a lot so I wasn't always great about the 5 day workout schedule. But I was determined. If I skipped a workout, I doubled up. If I couldn't, I would just push my schedule back and make up the missed workout. With sick days and sore days, it took me about 4 months to get through the 90 day program. I wanted to do the advanced system but I didn't want to spend the extra money. It came to the end and I took my last measurements and pictures. I didn't see very much change. I had gained 13 lbs in the 2nd month and then leveled off... I weighed ALMOST the same at the end of the challenge as I had when I started. But I had lost 10 inches and was starting to feel better. End date was around April or May 2011.
By that time I was done with pumping, and my hunger had slowed down a bit. I was on Facebook and again, the friend that had lost weight with CLX had posted she had lost another 30 lbs with another Chalene Johnson DVD system - this on was called Turbofire. I watched the infomercial and was HOOKED. It looked like SO much fun! My husband bought Turbofire for me for my birthday. This is when I really started to love fitness...
